Thank You

by FineArtViews on 11/26/2009 12:03:37 PM

Today is the day we’re reminded of how thankful we are…or at least of how thankful we should be.

Today is Thanksgiving and many of us are with friends and family.  And you know what?  We’re thankful for them (or at least most of them :-)).

We live in a country where censorship of our talents is met with vehement protest.  We live in a country where dreams are followed and voices are heard.  We had forefathers who possessed enough presence of mind to include these safeguards in our constitution.  And we thank them.

We’re reminded of friends who have helped us and who have been sources of support and inspiration.  We’re thankful for them.

We each have our own lists of things and people that we’re so thankful for.  Many of us include family, friends, and freedom on those lists... and yet each list is as unique and as varied as the stars that brighten our night sky.  We’re thankful.

But of all the things in your life to be thankful for (and I hope the list is as long as your arm) please remember to be thankful for yourself.  Give thanks for having a talent that makes the rest of us green with envy.  For being brave enough to share that talent with the world.  For giving us a gift that brings smiles to our faces and broadens our minds.

Your gift of art starts meaningful conversations. Your artwork transcends your studio and speaks to the world, to all humanity, to future generations.  Your artwork moves our souls, brings us to laughter and to tears.

Don't ever discount how important your artwork is to this world.  And don't ever forget your Creator gifted you with those abilities....you have a responsibility to use them and share that gift with the rest of us.

So for this Thanksgiving we have all kinds of plans.  We plan to enjoy our time off.  We plan to enjoy our friends and our families.  We plan to try to ignore the stress as our in-laws argue. We plan to ignore the blaring TV.  We're planning to try to forget about the dishes for a while in the afternoon.  And we plan to lose ourselves in front of our favorite paintings, sculpture and photographs and, at those very moments, dear artists, we plan to give thanks for you.

Because for all those reasons and more...the rest of us are thankful for you.

Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,

The FASO Team

Clint, Carrie, Padgett, Lisa, Doug, Marsha, Jennifer

Thank you Clint for offering this awesome website, your blog full of wonderful information and everything made so easy to use. I haven't made many comments before but I wanted you to know how thankful I am for the opportunity to have a website with FASO. I also want to thank the rest of your team: Carrie, Padgett, Lisa, Doug, Marsha, and Jennifer. My questions and challenges have always been answered or addressed so quickly. My issues have been resolved because you and your team keep helping until I am satisfied. Thank you for that! I am still learning this whole art business after being away from it for 30 years and this is the perfect place to be. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your team!

First of all, thank you to you, Clint, and the entire FASO team. Thanks for giving me the tools and technology to create the website I really wanted. Thanks for your patience and your quick answers when I needed extra help. You have made it so easy for me.

Thank you for pointing out where the creative gifting really comes from...the Source...the Creator...the One where everything starts and ends. Thank you for pointing out that it is not only my joy to create work that will speak to others, but that it is my responsibility to use that gift. Thank you for encouraging all of us to share the gifting that we have. As we use our gifting we grow in it and our ability to express what we want through our gifting also grows...all the more reason to continue creating new work and to give thanks for the gift. I thank God for my gift, and for the freedom to express myself through it. I am also thankful for the time and all the materials I use to put the gift out there for others to enjoy.

That brings me back to the beginning...thank you for the part FASO has played in helping me present my gift to the world.

Fiona, Dora, Ron and Pamela - thanks for all your kind words, we are truly grateful to have you all as supporters. Sorry for the delay in responding....another thing I'm thankful for is my fun family to spend holidays with....due to that a bit slow moving this morning though....
