Acquired

Aught is lost of all we learn,
But a work of art from it we churn.
As precept upon precept builds the skill
And total recall is by the will,
Then as easy as turning a leaf,
The knowledge we need gives relief.
It adds confidence to our profile
And brings about a work after a while.
This is the end result of what is known
When we acquire what we are shown.

I for one, am thankful that we are permited to express in art what we feel in our souls.
